Exploring Plasmon-enhanced downshifting and downconversion

The December 2024 issue of Review in Physics will feature the recently published white paper entitled: “Plasmon-enhanced downshifting and downconversion: Fundamentals and applications in photovoltaics. Thanks to the work of our former Data Engineering intern, Aditi Joshi, and our current Computational Modeling & Simulation Engineer, Ilia Rasskazov, along with contributions from other members of the SunDensity team. This paper explores how downshifting (DS) and downconversion (DC) are processes by which high energy protons can be converted into one or more lower energy protons though the use of plasmonic nanoparticles. Applications of these processes can have great implications for the photovoltaic field.
