Optimizing Low-Emissivity Coatings

The January 2025 issue of Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells will feature a paper entitled “Optimal design of low-emissivity coatings” published by SunDensity team members Jacob Wurm (left), Samuel Tyler Fujisawa-Phillips (center), and Ilia Rasskazov, PhD. (right).

This paper explores how optimally designed low-emissivity coatings are characterized and includes a comprehensive theoretical model for estimating the photo-energetic performance of the coatings. The designs outlined in this paper will have critical importance with regard to solar energy control.
